Genevieve arrived at the Archery Range with her bow and her quiver with six arrows. She set them down on a bench so she could put on her leather arm-guards. Once they were laced tightly she picked up her bow and smiled, running her hand over the beautiful carved woodwork. She loved her bow. It was a deep Chestnut color, with twisting leaves and vines carved into the wood. It was probably one of her most prized possessions.
She picked up her quiver and quickly found a target that wasn't being used. She smoothly notched the arrow, and drew back aiming at the target. With a Twang! she let the string go and watched as her arrow gracefully sliced through the air, landing with a dull thud in the target. Genevieve didn't have to even look, she knew it was a bulls eye. Again, she notched another arrow, drawing the string back, and taking aim.

Sierra had been trying to pick up archery lately... trying and not succeeding too well. With her being surrounded by amazing archers (probably all Apollo's children). She was actually feeling quite inferior as she picked up an arrow, and tried to shoot. The arrow landed on the outermost ring of the target.
"Awesome." Sierra muttered to herself, smiling. She couldn't help but laugh at herself. She looked over and saw a blonde girl next to her shooting her arrow. Bullseye. Sierra then stood up tall like the girl and copied her every move as she shot again. It wasn't a bullseye but it sure as hell was better than her last 5 shots.
"Umm... excuse me." Sierra said, tapping the girl on the shoulder. "How do you do that?" She couldn't help but ask.

Genevieve turned around and saw a girl with long black hair. Since most of her half-brothers and sisters had a lighter color hair she was slightly taken aback. "You don't come here often do you?" Genevieve said slightly amused. She looked at the girls target and saw her arrows. she raised her eyebrows. "I'm assuming you mean, how do I hit the bulls-eye?" Genevieve asked.
Genevieve notched another arrow and drew the string back, letting it sail through the air again. After her third arrow had made the bulls-eye she turned to the girl. "Like that," She said "But if it helps, let me watch you, and maybe I can find whats going wrong for you." She said setting her bow down so she could give her full attention to the girl.

Sierra blushed, embarrassed that she was that bad at archery. "Sorry. You really don't have to if you don't want. I was just..." she paused, realized she was ranting, and laughed lightly. "I'm Sierra."

"Genevieve." Genevieve replied, she smiled, "I honestly would like to help you. It would help with my experience and my bragging rights if other campers saw me helping. I could go around saying I'm such a good archer, people ask me for help." Genevieve laughed, joking "Really, its no problem at all. It's not like I need to practice anyways." Genevieve said motioning to her own target. She didn't care if she sounded stuck up. That's the way she was, and if people didn't accept it, well she was never going to change.
"Don't be shy, you're never going to get better if you don't what's wrong." Genevieve said motioning for Sierra to take another shot.

"Thanks." Sierra smiled and turned toward the target, drawing her arrow back and taking the shot at the target. I hit somewhat close to her other earlier shots... on the outside of the target. She turned back toward Genevieve and observed her confident stance. She came off a bit cocky, but she has every right to be.
"How was that?" Sierra said grinning and raising her eyebrows.

"Terrible." Genvieve said bluntly. "Here, try pulling your elbow pack in a straight line," Genevieve said mimicking the motion with an imaginary bow. "And use the arm that's holding the bow to keep it line as you release. It takes some practice, but it's necessary. When you release your bow goes all over the place, part of the reason why your landing so off." Genevieve said, hoping it was helpful.
"Go ahead,Try again." Genevieve said.

"Okay" Sierra nodded and turned back to the target. She pulled her elbow back and made sure that her posture was in order.
"So, how old were you when you actually started archery?" She let go of the arrow and it landed pretty close to the bullseye. Sierra smiled and made a fist pump, laughing at how excited she was to just get it somewhat close to the bullseye.
